I’m on the train heading home from solstice ecstatic dance. Possible fueled by this positive energy I pad over to a woman obviously heading home from a wedding. I explain that I’ve bought the very same dress she’s wearing to wear to a wedding later in the year. ‘Would you mind if I asked you where you got your fascinator from; It’s a perfect match and I need to get one.’ She gifts it to me. Wow.
Thanks Zoe Shuttleworth – mine’s a bit like this, only more orangey
Still grateful to the post that started me noting something everyday. Appreciate the noticing the little things more, and the taking the time to make sure there’s at least a short pause, especially a short pause that’s not work. In each day.
I’m on emergency phone cover for student summer projects. Obviously I’m hoping it’s NEVER gonna ring, but just in case request, as I’m leaving the office, ideally a credit card sized laminated card with emergency contact numbers on it. Arrive this morning to find it on my desk with a note saying, “you said, we did.” Amazing. Obviously would have been even better if I’d remembered to put it in my purse – well at least everyone else is competent (sigh)
Trying to hold on to some elements of my yoga intensive I’m sitting (unsupported) in the garden at work eating lunch. I notice the bush next to where I’m sitting is alive with tiny bees. And immediately I’m back in the aware space I’ve been inhabiting. How could I not have noticed – the bush is BUZZING – the last few mouthfuls of the salad I’m been wolfing down taste delicious and I eat them slowly savouring every flavour. So thank you bees for bring me back to the moment. Oh yes, and for pollination so that things and ultimately we don’t die and all that.
Won’t stay still long enough to photograph though – that browny blur top left – it’s a bee – honest!
Love going away to workshops, love coming home to my regular teachers where I can attempt to make sense of and incorporate what I’ve learned. Thanks guys.
(for example), other lovely yoga teachers feature in my life
Great guy on the Northern line this morning. Shouting all the usual things about letting people off first and moving all the way down the carriage, but it’s how he does it. He sounds very London, chirpy and like he really cares. All these people need to get where they’re going and it’s his mission to do his best to get us there. Thank you, one me successfully delivered to my yoga workshop.
Day 3 of yoga intensive and suddenly enlightenment. Do you think my yoga teacher will be up for incorporating these activities into his usual class? Today no snoring in yoga nidra – I stood – is that cheating?
